The Village has excellent condos, penthouses and townhomes, including several larger options, but most of Whistler's truly substantial luxury chalets are located in places such as Kadenwood, Blueberry and other residential neighbourhoods.

For a couple, family or smaller group, Whistler Village offers one of the best combinations of convenience and choice. For a group looking for six, seven, eight or more bedrooms, it often makes more sense to look slightly farther from the Village in exchange for a much larger home, private hot tub, entertainment areas, bigger kitchens and substantially more living space.

2. Upper Village and Blackcomb: Best for Families and Blackcomb Ski Access

Upper Village sits at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, across Fitzsimmons Creek from the main Whistler Village. It feels noticeably quieter than the main Village while still keeping guests close to restaurants, shops and mountain access.

Some properties are genuinely ski-in, ski-out. Others require a short walk, shuttle or very brief connection to the mountain. Always review the exact ski access for the individual property rather than assuming every property in a neighbourhood has identical access.

3. Whistler Creekside: Best for Families, Ski Lessons and a More Relaxed Whistler Experience

Creekside is Whistler's original base area and has developed into a complete village of its own. 4. Kadenwood: Best for Large Luxury Groups, Skiing and Privacy

Kadenwood is one of Whistler's most exclusive mountain neighbourhoods. Located above Creekside on Whistler Mountain, it is known for substantial contemporary chalets, forested surroundings, luxury amenities and incredible views.

Nordic and Taluswood sit between Whistler Village and Creekside and include some excellent ski-access properties. Exact ski access varies considerably by home — never assume that every property in Nordic or Taluswood is ski-in, ski-out simply because another property nearby is.

A Note About Ski Lessons in Whistler
